Originally from Birmingham, Brian Teasley toured the world as a member of the Auburn-based alternative band, Man or Astroman?, and other subsequent music projects. After having played “1500 shows in 31 countries” since the early 1990s, Teasley returned with his wife to Birmingham, where the started the Bottle Tree Café, a music venue and otherwise cultural haven for a wide variety of events. I sat with Brian in his home on a cold Saturday morning, since there was an arts-and-crafts fair going on at the café that day, to talk about Alabama, music, and why he decided to return here.
